One-Year-Old Dies After Falling Into Water-Filled Bucket While Playing at Home
A one-year-old child died after falling into a water-filled bucket while playing at Jeevan Nagar Part-2. The family accused a private hospital of negligence and alleged hesitation in handing over the body.
The family said the child was playing at home when he fell into a bucket filled with water. The family immediately took him to the hospital, but doctors declared him dead. After learning of the child’s death, the family members broke down, with relatives left devastated by the loss.
The child’s grandmother and other family members have made serious allegations against the private hospital. They alleged that negligence occurred during the child’s treatment and that a substantial bill was prepared in the name of treatment. The family now wants the child’s post-mortem to be conducted at a government hospital to establish the actual cause of death. The relatives also alleged that the hospital management hesitated to hand over the child’s body after his death.
After receiving information about the incident, a police team from Sanjay Colony Police Post reached the spot. Police Post In-Charge Anil Kumar said the police had received information that a child aged about one year had fallen into a bucket filled with water while playing. The family took the child to a private hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Anil Kumar said the child’s post-mortem would be conducted and further action would be taken based on the report. Police have initiated the post-mortem process.
It remains to be established through the post-mortem report whether the child died after drowning in the accident or whether there was any other cause. The allegations of negligence made by the family against the private hospital are also being investigated.
